Direct from West Java Indonesia to Colorado USA
comes Loveland's BECAK (Trishaw) fleet.

 During my first trip to Indonesia in 1983 I flew into Bali and made my way across the Island of Java.  Back then the Becaks were everywhere.  It was the first time I saw and rode in one.  It was love at first sight.   I always thought it would be great to have one: a) to ride and perhaps be a little healthier; b) to maybe give rides to other people; and c) to make a great souvenir that very few people in the U.S. would have.

Today they are no longer permitted in downtown Jakarta and other cities.   I hope they do not go the way of the now-vanished Trishaws of Singapore, Hong Kong, and other places.

Spring 2002 my first Becak almost ready for shipping from Cirebon Indonesia.

Clears customs 5 Aug 2002, and after a little reconstruction it can now be seen in Loveland Colorado USA.

Now that I have done it twice I could do it again.
$700 US (non refundable) up front to order, have built and picked up by my contact in Jakarta Indonesia.  About another $400 US to ship to Rancho Dominguez California USA.  You would then have to collect/get it from the customs house nearest you (additional shipping charges from CA will be added;  CSI X-ray exam, any customs, IT charges, handling, and/or storage fees extra and paid to customs and/or storage company).
In my case, the nearest customs clearing house was Denver.  I had to take a day off work and rent a truck to get mine home from there.  The crate pictured above was 68" x 44" x 43" the other was 50" x 48" x 46".
